Stay Focused

Image
Often we can find ourselves starting to lose focus and caught up in distractions this time of year. The hustle and bustle of the season as well as the shorter days can get the most of us during this December season. I want to remind you to stay focused. Keep your goals in front of you and challenge yourself to keep moving forward, making time to stop and have many mini celebrations along the way. You are doing such important work that will greatly impact more than you could ever begin to imagine. So stay focused on this work. You are amazing!  A look at the wonderful things happening at PVES... Mrs. Williams and Mrs. Godfrey had their LAUNCH students staying focused during the weeks leading up to Thanksgiving with this awesome challenge. They researched the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade, built balloons, and floats, and then coded their paths along the streets of "New York." What a fun and innovative way to embrace the holidays while staying focused on learning and leadin...

Stay Positive. Be Thankful.

This week we wanted to take a moment to let each of you know how thankful we truly are for you. It is rare to find a staff so dedicated to the success of their students. Each of you comes in to serve on a daily basis. Many people don't fully understand the amount of time and energy it takes to serve children, and we want you to know that your effort does not go unnoticed. We have been reflecting over the last few days, and we wanted to share some of the positive moments happening around our building. Let's finish strong these next two days and reflect on all the good that is happening around us. Our students are thriving, our staff is unmatchable, and our community is being impacted by the change we are making within the walls of our school.  Stay positive.  Be thankful.  Staff Bulletin Board Every staff member serves a purpose in our school and we are thankful for all that you do. What if every day we took some time to reflect on why we are thankful for each othe...

Gratitude Part 2

Image
We will continue this week focusing on an attitude of gratitude by taking time to count our blessings and reflecting on the goodness given. Last week we took time to thank our veterans for their service and sacrifice. This week we want to say thank you to our staff. You are all amazing and the ones that make PVES such a special place. You come in with a whatever it takes attitude to make sure that our students are learning, growing, and becoming the best they can be. This week we say thank you to you! Someone from our district office staff will be by on Monday to bring around a treat to show gratitude. We also have a little activity that we would like to share with you later in the blog. Thank you for showing your #pvespride in all you say and do each and every day!  A look at the wonderful things happening at PVES...  We are so thankful to everyone for helping us celebrate and honor our veterans last week.  Fourth graders are learning more about strategies for multiplica...

Gratitude

Image
As I write our blog for this week, I am sitting on my back porch enjoying a beautiful fall day. I am reminded about the importance of pausing and making time to rest in an attitude of thankfulness and gratitude. This school year started off with many challenges that we quite honestly were not prepared for or even anticipating. Yet, several weeks ago we celebrated the end of the first nine-week period. We embraced fall break and enjoyed a mental health day provided by our district office staff. We wrapped up our most successful fundraiser yet by celebrating school-wide and classroom prizes. We have built relationships with students and our colleagues. In summary, there is so much to be thankful for as we enter into a season of thanksgiving. It is a known fact that one of the best ways to handle stress is to focus on blessings. This week, I want to challenge you to take some time to pause and find some time to write down things you are most grateful for in your life right now. One o...
