The Power of Yet

Image
Some of us have said a few of the phrases above over the past week. We may have also heard our students using these phrases as well. The key to moving forward and pushing ourselves to be better leaders and learners each day is that last word in each phrase... yet!  Have we also used that word alongside those phrases? Are we encouraging our students to make this part of their vocabulary as well? Our students need us to have a growth mindset where we truly believe that our failures today are simply the road to future success. We would never want our students to think their futures are limited to their capabilities as third, fourth, or fifth graders. We should also not allow ourselves to fall captive to our failures and limit our ability to learn and grow. We may not be where we want to be yet , but by working collaboratively to support our students, we truly believe there are no limits to where we can take our students!  A look at some great thing happening at PVES... Remembering your why helps you get back up and try again the next day so you can thrive! A look at some of the amazing things happening at PVES this week... Learning

Image
This week we will have various opportunities for our folks to learn and grow. At our opening meeting, we defined what it looked like to be a learner. Through this activity, we found many similarities between learners and leaders. I want to challenge you this week to embrace the professional developments, training, collaboration, etc., and look for ways to learn more and eventually lead with your new knowledge. Be an active participant, take notes, ask questions, listen, and explore new ideas. Learning should never stop because we should always strive to get better.  A look at the awesome learning taking place at PVES... Learning is for all at PVES! Ms. Black works with students from Ms. Barber's class in the library.  Fourth grade made learning fun and tasty with their science unit!  Ms. Grier uses manipulatives and small groups to reteach during Pride Time. Teachers in all grades are working on finding ways to reteach and reinforce learning during our intervention...
