Gratitude Part 2


We will continue this week focusing on an attitude of gratitude by taking time to count our blessings and reflecting on the goodness given. Last week we took time to thank our veterans for their service and sacrifice. This week we want to say thank you to our staff. You are all amazing and the ones that make PVES such a special place. You come in with a whatever it takes attitude to make sure that our students are learning, growing, and becoming the best they can be. This week we say thank you to you! Someone from our district office staff will be by on Monday to bring around a treat to show gratitude. We also have a little activity that we would like to share with you later in the blog. Thank you for showing your #pvespride in all you say and do each and every day! 



A look at the wonderful things happening at PVES... 

We are so thankful to everyone for helping us celebrate and honor our veterans last week. 


Fourth graders are learning more about strategies for multiplication. We are thankful for teachers who find innovative and fun ways to learn! 




We are grateful for a committed PTSO! We wrapped up our fundraiser with the final celebration of Barnyard Bash for some of our classes.


Mrs. Plowden continues to support our students in math. She has worked hard to learn about new interventions and strategies to build strong number sense for our students. We are thankful for her role as math interventionist this year. 

Important Information for PVES Staff:

Olweus: This week we will be focusing on lesson 5 that can be found here in our folder. Please be reminded that your OLWEUS meetings should not take your entire PRIDE time. These meetings should end no later than 8:40 like in previous years. This should still allow you time to pull a reading or math intervention group. 

Jersey Mike's Spirit Week: This week is our Jersey Mike's Spirit Week. Our school will get 20% of the sales this week when folks order in the store or on their app using the code PWDSRVLE Nov. 15th-21st. This is only valid at the location on 153 in Powdersville. Teachers can place an order on Wednesday and PTSO will pick these up and deliver them to the school. From PTSO About Ordering: All orders must be placed no later than Tuesday by 8pm (they close at 9)    They MUST say in the comments they are with PVES and their name so we know which sub goes to whom    Subs will be delivered to classrooms by 11am Wednesday. Once they have placed their orders if they will email ptsopves@gmail.com and let us know they ordered we can make sure we have all of the subs and such!

Staff Meeting on Wednesday: We will have a meeting for all teachers and support staff on this Wednesday with a focus on ALiCE Training. We will provide more information about the location. We will start around 3:25 once we can get all car riders moved to the front. 

Toys for Tots: We will be collecting Toys for Tots through December 5th. If you are able to contribute, you can bring in a new, unwrapped toy and drop it in one of the bins located by the car or bus circle. 

Thankful Board: On Monday, you will find a card in your box with another staff member's name on it. We are asking that you take a moment to write a note of thanks to that staff member and then place it on a clip on this display across from the staff boxes. (See below) We would like to have these up by the staff meeting on Wednesday. Feel free to read yours when it is posted but we want to leave them up until next week. You can take your card with you when you leave for Thanksgiving break on Tuesday, November 23rd. 



Thanksgiving Break: We hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving break with your family and friends. Enjoy the season and all that comes with it. Remember to take time to relax and recharge. We will not do a blog next week but will send out any last minute reminder in an email next Sunday evening.

Happy New Year!

This is the first blog of 2022 so let me say Happy New Year to you! I hope you have enjoyed your break and found time to relax, refresh, and recharge. The new year brings about a great time to refocus, set goals, and reflect. This is also a great time to do the same with your students. As we return from break on Monday, please remember these words. Take some time to refocus and revisit your expectations for procedures and behavior and make sure you take time to practice. Remind students of their purpose and the goal to learn and lead each and every day. Be sure to reflect on your lessons and make sure you are making the most out of every moment you have with your students. I want to also remind you that not all students enjoyed the break. Some missed you and are so ready to be back. Others will have a difficult time transitioning back to the routine. Consider this as you spend time this week welcoming them back. Celebrate Success

  At PVES we work hard every day, and we have high expectations for ourselves and our students. It is important that we make sure we are stopping to recognize the positives and celebrate successes along the way. We have much to celebrate at PVES! One point to celebrate is that all our Cognia evidence will be turned in on Friday!
