Believe
This week I shared the truths below with our homeroom teachers during their Thursday collaborative team time. I wanted to share the same with the rest of our staff this week in our blog. Often times we can feel overwhelmed, defeated, or unsuccessful due to the noise and circumstances around us. I wanted to remind you that when you find yourself feeling this way it is important to go back to what is true. I have to often do the same for myself and so I thought this week would be a great time to put these truths in front of you that we believe about our staff at PVES. I hope you will find rest, comfort, and encouragement in these today and all week long.
Many Celebrations at PVES...
We had many students to celebrate over the last couple of weeks. Students were recognized for pride practices and the writer's wall of fame. Thank you for making these students feel special.
Teachers and students have enjoyed our What's Up Wednesday time to do a mid-check on how everyone is doing. There is power in reflection and making time for mindfulness.
Mrs. Fitch did an amazing job leading our talent show this past week. I always love seeing our students be so courageous and display their incredible talents on the big stage. This picture was extra special as it captures Mrs. Fitch stepping in at rehearsals to sing along with a student who needed a confidence boost and a champion by her side.
Our teachers also stepped up in a big way to dance, work behind stage, take up tickets, and show up to celebrate and support students. Thank you so much to each of you for your investment in our students.
We have appreciated the support and partnership with the Powdersville High School basketball team. Friday basketball readers have been the highlight of the week for many of our classes!
Eggs up Grill spirit night was another huge hit! Thank you to the many staff members who came out this evening to eat, serve, and support our school and PTSO. What a fun night!
Important Information for PVES Staff:
National Counselor Week: February 7th-11th we will be celebrating Ms. Lee. We are so blessed to have her supporting our students and staff at PVES. She does an amazing job each and every day in her role. Help us celebrate her by joining in on each of our themed days. Feel free to wear blue jeans this week as you participate in celebrating. Thank you, Ms. Lee, for being you!
Valentine Grams: PTSO is selling valentine grams this week. PTSO has asked for help from our homeroom teachers. Please make sure to put all orders in your envelopes provided at the beginning of the year with your names on them. This will help PTSO sort through the orders, especially if they are missing last names and homerooms. Please also send these up to the office as soon as you collect them in homeroom so PTSO can begin processing these orders. Thank you in advance for your help. Orders are due February 10th and will be delivered on Monday, February 14th.
Valentines Day: Students will be able to bring in valentines for exchange this year. Please ask them to bring one for each student if they plan to participate. Make sure to make time for them to exchange these and homeroom teachers will want to communicate a total class number to parents. Any food items brought in must follow district protocol (store-bought items that are individually wrapped). Remember we do not do valentine's day parties. We will have our spring parties in April with more details to come later.
February 14th Jeans: Each year AAEOP (Anderson Area Educational Office Professionals) - your school office professionals, selects one senior (from applications) to receive a $500.00 scholarship. We love being about to support our students' academic success. This year, we are asking you to partner with us in this endeavor. It is our hope that in the near future, we will be able to offer a scholarship to one senior from each school rather than just one from the entire district. The end goal is to raise these monies to be able to continue to give the one scholarship and hopefully be able to give three in the near future. You may donate to your school bookkeeper, Mrs. Patty Ellison. Please make any checks payable to AAEOP. Thank you for your support!
