Developing Learners and Empowering Leaders

Welcome PVES Staff to the 2021-2022 school year! It has been a wonderful start to our school Thank you for the energy you are bringing each and every day. As we get started with our students this week, remember your why. Why are you showing up each and every day? Why are you teaching bell to bell with all your heart poured out? Why are continuing to love on a kid that seems unresponsive to your efforts? This is what keeps you going! This is what allows us to continue in difficult times.

A look at the great things happening at PVES...
We had a blast at our opening meeting as we focused on our Reset21.

Fourth and fifth teachers welcomed students and their families last week. Thank you so much to all our folks who made the nights a success!

We kicked off the year in fun and in style! We defined learners and leaders, reflected on our why, and our new folks joined their houses. What a way to lead into our best year yet!

Important Information for the Week:

Monday Meeting: We will meet Monday at 10:00 in the gym/cafeteria to briefly touch base before the first day with students. Below you will find things we discuss. We also wanted to provide a place for you to drop in any last minute questions. You may do that here on this Jamboard. If there is a specific need related to your classroom that is not for the group you can submit that here with this Google Form

Topics to be addressed:

  • Virtual Classroom App
  • iPads and First Day
  • First Day Procedures- arrival for staff and duties (AM/PM)
  • First Day Expectations
  • Transportation for the First Day
  • Car Tags
  • Cafeteria and Lunch updates
  • Video with expectations for students
  • Walkies distribution

iPad Containers: You may drop off your iPad containers outside my office after you unpack your iPads. Please do not bring your envelopes. For now, please keep those in your room until we are sure that all of your students have attended. If they do not attend, we will need to place their iPad back in the envelope.

Playground Areas: Please review this slide to see where the zones are for the playground. Classes should still be kept separate, so please ensure that you stick to your area alone and your recess times. You may want to consider printing this for your sub binder or folder to ensure they know where your kids should be.

Textbooks: Please keep any textbooks that you have extra in your room for the moment. If you do not have enough textbooks for each student, please be patient. Once we see that all students have arrived on that first day, I will put a cart outside my office where you can grab what you need or return what you do not need. If you have extra textbooks, please do not keep them in your room after that first day. We will need those for another student that is currently enrolled and present.

Sub Video: Please view this video for a refresher on how to put in for a sub once your absence is approved.
